About Me
Rooted in Experience. Centered on Your Voice. Focused on Your Child.
I’m Melissa — founder of Voice for Change Consulting, mom of four, and a fierce advocate for families navigating special education.
Like many of the parents I now support, I didn’t start this journey as a professional. I started it at the kitchen table, with evaluation reports I didn’t understand, meetings that felt stacked against me, and a gut feeling that my child deserved better. Over the years, I’ve learned how to speak the language of schools, hold systems accountable, and show up powerfully — not just for my own children, but for others too.
Now, I work with families across all stages of the process — whether you're attending your very first IEP meeting or advocating for change in a long-standing plan. I help you understand your rights, prep with confidence, and show up to the table informed, empowered, and heard.
My approach is:
-
Compassionate — I’ve been where you are.
-
Strategic — I know how schools work, and how to navigate them.
-
Practical — You’ll leave our sessions with clarity and next steps.
-
Whether you need one-time support or ongoing partnership, I’m here to help you move from overwhelmed to equipped — with calm, care, and real-world guidance.
Because your voice matters. And your child does too.

Mission
Voice for Change Consulting empowers parents and caregivers to confidently advocate for their children in special education settings.
With a foundation rooted in lived experience and guided by compassion, we offer individualized support, clear communication strategies, and practical tools to help families feel seen, supported, and strong in the face of systems that often overlook their needs.
Vision
We envision a world where every parent feels confident in their ability to advocate for their child, and every child receives the support, respect, and opportunities they need to thrive — regardless of how they learn or what challenges they face.
At Voice for Change Consulting, our vision is to shift the culture of special education from confusion and isolation to one of empowerment, clarity, and collaboration — one family, one meeting, one voice at a time.
